Business Development Assistant Manager Purpose: Builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business relationships.

Competencies: 

    • Initiate marketing strategies and coordinate actions to influence the market

Tasks:

    • Set sales targets and define strategy to achieve these targets and to follow the set strategy punctually
    • Manage the proposal development process and maintain the time-lines for the proposal teams
    • Coordinate with sponsors concerning size, standards, conditions and timing of research
    • Develop draft proposals based on team meetings and discussions
    • Maintain the Business Development databases
    • Support marketing activities, including trade/scientific shows, mailings, etc.

Job Duties:

  • Identifies trendsetter ideas by researching industry and related events, publications, and announcements; tracking individual contributors and their accomplishments
  • Locates or proposes potential business deals by contacting potential partners; discovering and exploring opportunities
  • Screens potential business deals by analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, potential, and financials; evaluating options; resolving internal priorities; recommending equity investments
  • Develops negotiating strategies and positions by studying integration of new venture with company strategies and operations; examining risks and potentials; estimating partners’ needs and goals
  • Closes new business deals by coordinating requirements; developing and negotiating contracts; integrating contract requirements with business operations
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Telemarketer General Purpose:  Contact businesses and individuals by telephone in order to promote and sell goods and services, receive orders, gather information, verify details and/or request donations for charitable causes.

Competencies:

Tasks:

  • Help Create and Deliver prepared Sales Dialogue, reading from scripts that describe products or services, in order to educate/persuade potential customers to purchase a product or service and/or to make a donation
  • Contact businesses or private individuals by telephone in order to solicit sales for goods or services, or to request donations for charitable causes
  • Explain products or services and prices, and answer questions from customers
  • Obtain customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and enter orders or appointments into computers
  • Record names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects contacted
  • Adjust sales scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific individuals
  • Obtain names and telephone numbers of potential customers from sources such as telephone directories, magazine reply cards, and lists purchased from other organizations
  • Answer telephone calls from potential customers who have been solicited through advertisements
  • Telephone or write emails/letters to respond to correspondence from customers or to follow up initial sales contacts
  • Maintain records of contacts, accounts, and orders
  • Schedule appointments for sales representatives to meet with prospective customers or for customers to attend sales presentations
  • Conduct client or market surveys in order to obtain information about potential customers
